You know you're getting older when the Arby's order taker processes your order, you pay, he hands you your receipt and you in your sharp mind KNOW he hasn't charged you right. You look at your receipt to add it up and see where the error is. He has given you a 'Seniors Discount' even though you don't 'qualify' for another SEVEN YEARS! That's a whole life time to a little kid!

You know you're getting older when you see something off the side of a road under road construction and have a flashback memory to things you used to see on the road under construction. Flare pots. But then you don't remember what they're called! So you have to Google it! Well, evidently you're not getting too old-you have Google and you know how to use it!

The Measure of a Man

I loved this song. It was sung by Brett Raymond and it gave me a tremendous sense of where young men need to center themselves. The whole tape (yes, I have a cassette) is great, but this song speaks volumes. I played it often when my boys were teens-as much for me as for them. My youngest son even sang it at a program once-ah heaven-maybe some of it was getting where I really wanted it to go! The Measure of a Man comes from the album of the same name. It is by Clive Romney and friends. I have the hologram sticker that came with it. A Cerulean Blue Ice Cream

  Being a grandma, I have a tendency to like to ‘kidnap’ one of our grand kids and take them out for an ice cream. Not just because I love my grand kids and want to establish a relationship with them, but also because I like ice cream. You learn a lot of things from your kids if you watch and interact with them. Things like you can’t leave a three-year old unsupervised with scissors for very long. Disaster is definitely going to happen. Or with a permanent marker…around leather furniture. That kind of learning from your kids. Guess what?! The learning goes on with grand kids too! I took a grandson out for an ice cream. Small shop, 31 flavors of ice cream to choose from.
