Passion

What feeds the depth of passion within oneself?

For one to decide to be honest in their dealings, tell the truth and give a full measure of work for their pay, in my mind, indicates a level of passion.

I feel a recent movie demonstrates this very well. Jean Valjean transitioned in time from indignation, anger, humble responsibility, and eventually to compassion. His songs demonstrated the depth of passion in the character he protrayed.

Inspector Javier on the other hand, having been born in solitary confinement grew up understanding and knowing both sides of the law. Repulsed from his background he cleaved to the only thing he felt he could trust-the law. Was there passion in this? He chased Valjean for a long lotta years.

When Javier sang of his vow to the stars-that's what he was singing to-the stars. He was vowing to the stars. How deep is that passion? Didn't carry him through his final self-check.

When Valjean sang he sang with passion knowing he had accepted the challenge the Priest had issued regarding his soul, "But remember this, my brother. See in this some higher plan. You must use this precious silver to become an honest man. By the witness of the martyrs, by the passion and the blood, God has brought you out of darkness. I have bought your soul for God."

Passion when God is a factor in your life is always more intense and profound.
