The Adventures of Dove Step the Sheep, Chapter 2

Chapter 2

After experiencing what it’s like to be a victim of a bully, Dove Step decided he did NOT want to be a bully.

Dove started to notice that some of the plants in the meadow had tiny flowers on them.

Dove Step was curious what they tasted like. So he selected a pretty purple one, bit it off the plant and started chewing. It was soft and had no extra flavor, but he liked the texture of the flower. It was kind of spicy. He told his friend and soon lots of sheep were eating purple flowers. Some were giving purple flowers to girl sheep. Other sheep were gathering all sorts of colors of flowers and throwing them in the air. The sheep were all having so much fun when it started raining.

The sheep looked up but only got rain in their eyes. Some sheep started running around, scared. While others stayed calm.

Then the mother sheep started bleating how the falling rain would cleanse the plants and nourish the earth. The young lambs found this calming to know that the rain was natural, normal and okay. So they began to play and romp again in the rain.

Soon the storm began to break up and the sun began to poke through the clouds. When all of a sudden Dove saw the most amazing display of colors sweeping across the sky.

“Ooooh….” Almost all the lambs said in awe!

“That is a rainbow,” Said one sheep. “It appears only after rain.” Then the farmer came out and looked at the rainbow and pulled out a clear shiny thing. Dove looked from the farmer to the shadow the prism made and saw another rainbow! On the Ground! He can make rainbows with that stone! The farmer carries a rainbow in his pocket! So they don’t just come from rain thought Dove Step.
