and Back Again










Wednesday would be the last full day of our vacation so we wanted to make sure we got the most important parts in. Like fully enjoying the Gulf. Like finishing the IMAX movies we could fit into our schedule done. Like going to the 'Bahn'!

We did the French Fries with the seagulls again. We actually swam in the Gulf and we spent 3 hours at the 'Bahn'. Free life jackets. Free tubes... and loads of fun!

By Wednesday Ben was so tuckered out he slept ski-wampus on the bed. We warned Ben on the first day that if he wandered off without one of us he would end up with a monkey on his back. Who would have guessed that he would choose a monkey and he'd actually end up with it on his back! It's kind of a camouflage green color monkey.

The walkway out to the plane was broken so we got to go down one set of steps and up a ladder to get on the plane. Well, that was a first for me! Dove of course, loves to ask, now do you know where the ramps are made? Okay-everyone say it with me, "Ogden, UT!"

...and on the return trip Ben fell asleep even though it was only mid-afternoon. He missed seeing Mount Timpanogos as we came up through Utah Valley. He even missed seeing the 'holes' in the airplane wings when the pilot landed.

The Measure of a Man

I loved this song. It was sung by Brett Raymond and it gave me a tremendous sense of where young men need to center themselves. The whole tape (yes, I have a cassette) is great, but this song speaks volumes. I played it often when my boys were teens-as much for me as for them. My youngest son even sang it at a program once-ah heaven-maybe some of it was getting where I really wanted it to go! The Measure of a Man comes from the album of the same name. It is by Clive Romney and friends. I have the hologram sticker that came with it. A Cerulean Blue Ice Cream

  Being a grandma, I have a tendency to like to ‘kidnap’ one of our grand kids and take them out for an ice cream. Not just because I love my grand kids and want to establish a relationship with them, but also because I like ice cream. You learn a lot of things from your kids if you watch and interact with them. Things like you can’t leave a three-year old unsupervised with scissors for very long. Disaster is definitely going to happen. Or with a permanent marker…around leather furniture.
