Cap and Trade vs Star Trek Society
Cap and Trade? Is it good? Perhaps. Yes, Pelosi-it will generate, "...jobs, jobs, jobs." And castrate the rest of us. Ah but if we have a 'free' health care system (for more doctors to 'practice' on people), then it's all going to be just fine, right?
These steps almost sound like steps toward a Star Trek Society. Yet, they aren't. They are steps to failure. The ONLY way that these programs will work is IF (tiny word-HUGE implications) all (totally all) of American society drop money and benefits as part of life.
That would mean that you go to work, clock in, clock out and the day is over. You stop at a store and pick up the food you need for that nights meal and the next mornings breakfast and afternoons lunch-and don't pay a dime for it.
The farmer works for free-all of his supplies come at no cost.
The trucker works for free-all of his supplies come at no cost.
The grocer works for free-all of his supplies come at no cost.
The politician works for free-all of his (dare I say hot air) comes at no cost.
Government employees and 'servants' work for free.
When you're sick you go to the doctor and do what he says-no smoking, no white flour/sugar, exercise 20-30 min./day, rise early, go to bed early, and one apple per day to keep you regular.
There are no retirement plans-you work 'til you die; so no need for social security.
There are no benefits plans (according to how 'valuable' you are to a company/enterprise/business)-you come you work at what you're good at and you go home at the end of the day. Those who work longer are there to avoid home.
You get your vacation days as you need them. Your 'credits' for days and hours work allow you to buy at the grocery, eat at restaurants, take a bus/plane/train to where you want or need to go.
There are no cars-just public transit everywhere-including a light rail train across the rolling plains of America that comes by every 20 minutes.
Sure! Let's vote for Cap and Trade! Let's just see how fast America can go into bankruptcy. But who's going to wipe the slate clean?
